VP of Information Technology
JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Information Technology (VP of IT) will be responsible for leading the IT strategy and operations across the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic vision with day-to-day IT management, ensuring that our technology infrastructure supports our business goals. The VP of IT will collaborate closely with other executive leaders to align technology initiatives with the company’s strategic direction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position must be able to:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with the organization’s business goals. Lead the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Technology Operations: Oversee all aspects of the organization’s IT operations, including network infrastructure, data management, cybersecurity, software development, and help desk/technical support. Develop and manage all the organization’s data and disaster recovery functions.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage an IT team, fostering a collaborative and results- oriented culture. Ensure continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of IT systems, data integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Organizational and Partner Collaboration: Work closely with other external partners and internal departments to understand their technology needs and deliver effective IT solutions that support their goals. Act as a key advisor to the executive team on technology-related matters.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Prioritize projects based on organizational needs and resources.
- Innovation and Trends: Stay current with the latest technology trends and best practices. Recommend and implement new technologies that can provide the organization with a competitive advantage.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in IT) is preferred. Or equivalent work experience.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in a small or growing organization is highly desirable. Experience working with external partners and regulatory agencies.
Preferred Experience:
- Medicare Advantage knowledge, experience working through system implementations, experience using Microsoft Office applications and development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. Hands-on experience with [specific technologies or systems relevant to the organization].
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing IT team. Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into effective IT strategies and solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on delivering quality results on time and within budget.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP, ITIL) are a plus.
- Microsoft: Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, and other tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
